It’s Halloween and this week we are changing things up! It’s the start of a mini blog series with some fun facts you may or may not know about me!
I am most definitely a die hard Aggie and 100% drank the kool-aid my freshman year! I graduated in 4.5 years, was a part of a women’s organization called Phi Lamb, met some of my closest friends, met my husband there, got my first taste of traveling oversees and absolutely loved Breakaway on Tuesday nights. My husband and I still love attending every home football game and tailgating with friends and family.
I actually started out in Mechanical Engineering but switched to Civil my junior year of college. I worked at TxDOT all throughout college then went to work for a consulting firm in Houston for 6 years after graduation. During that time, I worked in Traffic/Transportation and received my Professional Engineering license before leaving to pursue photography full-time in 2022.
No shame, but I have to admit I have 50+ recipe books ranging from Magnolia Table to Half Baked Harvest to Defined Dish to Milk Bar to Cajun to Italian to grilling/smoking and BBQ to baking and gluten free/dairy free books to many many more. I absolutely love experimenting with new recipes and even more so now that I’ve developed several food allergies over the years.
Along with loving recipe books, we love to try out new recipes! My husband is usually the one to cook the main dish while I typically focus on the sides. I also absolutely LOVE to bake!! Unfortunately, I’ve developed an egg allergy over the past year so baking has changed a bit and I can’t always taste test what I make but I still love experimenting with new recipes!
My husband and I embarked on a 6 week backpacking trip around Europe right after graduating from college and a little over a week into our trip, he proposed at sunset overlooking Manarola. Manarola is the second city in Cinque Terre and totally iconic for the cliffside view of the city. It was a dream come true! More to come on our engagement story later!
